NOT A SIDE DISH

The Teacher’s Playbook started with a simple idea: SEL isn’t a side dish. It’s not a Friday-afternoon-if-we-have-time subject. It’s baked into every classroom routine, every transition, every group project, and every eye roll you pretend not to see. I wanted resources that treat SEL as part of the daily flow — not another thing on your already overloaded to-do list.

BEYOND BUBBLEWRAP

I don’t believe in lowering the bar or wrapping kids in bubble wrap. I believe in teaching grit, growth mindset, and resilience. Because Gen Alpha kids need it more than ever. Confidence doesn’t come from empty praise; it comes from failing, trying again, and realizing you can do hard things.

SEL is about building that resilience, and also about helping kids understand themselves, manage their emotions, and respect the people around them. That’s not “soft.” That’s real life. And it belongs in every classroom, every day.

FROM THE CLASSROOM TO YOU

I spend my days in schools working with teachers and training future educators. I see what really happens: the chaos of a Monday morning, the fire drills, the students who test every limit, the moments of connection that make it worth it.

That’s why my resources are designed to be both realistic and engaging. They have to work in your world, not in some perfect Pinterest classroom that doesn’t exist.
