When I founded The Teacher’s Playbook, my mission was simple: to empower teachers and inspire students. Teaching isn’t just a job—it’s a calling, a passion, and a lifelong journey. I created The Teacher’s Playbook to celebrate educators, lighten their workload, and help them spark joy, curiosity, and connection in their classrooms.
A Journey Rooted in Education
Education has always been woven into my life. Coming from a family of educators, I grew up watching my mother pour her heart into teaching, often working late into the night to make her classroom a welcoming and inspiring space. But like many young adults, I initially pursued a different path.
I studied languages and cultures, later working in corporate communications, but something was missing - I wanted work that truly mattered. That clarity came when I moved back to Curaçao, where I was born, and enrolled in a teacher certification program taught by my father. Seeing his passion for education up close changed everything—not just my career, but my perspective on teaching itself.
I discovered my own love for teaching in the classrooms of Curaçao, later earning a master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Studies, deep-diving into how children grow, learn, and connect. My journey took me from Curaçao to the Netherlands to the Middle East, teaching in diverse settings and working as a school counselor. Today, I teach at a college, preparing future primary school teachers in a comprehensive four-year bachelor’s program.
These experiences didn’t just shape my teaching philosophy—they deepened my commitment to supporting educators in every way I can.

Teachers are superheroes, but let’s be real—they’re often overworked, under-supported, and running on caffeine and sheer willpower. I’ve seen too many educators struggle to find the time and resources to create the lessons they envision—lessons that truly engage, connect, and inspire.
